Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe downside would be how small the rooms are but still manageable
Love that there’s stuff to do right outside the hotel. The location is very nice

United StatesHard to find the door. The south side has poor signage. Go past the escalator, not up,, toward the red sigh.. Then left past the restraunts, past the 7-11, take aright after the glass door, around the corner to the elevators. Take up to the 8th floor lobby.
Quiet, considering the crazy night life outside the door.

SpainShinjuku area is too noisy and crowded.
Room for 3 had places to hang clothes and place suitcases. The staff made an effort to find us a quiet room.

AustraliaThe hotel is located in the night life district and there wasn't many family friendly activities to do around the hotel.
Location was easy to find, not too far from the Shinjuku train station. Hotel staff were very helpful and assisted us with finding a taxi to travel to our next hotel. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

GermanyThe Hotel is very well located. The rooms are quite big for Tokyo standards. It’s a bit pricey but that comes together with the spacious room(s). Would stay again because the location is awesome and very nearby Shinjkuku station.

BelgiumThe actual bedroom is quite small, with no opportunity to store anything. An open shell suitcase will block all movement. The double bed is quite small.
Gracery is located right in the middle of Kabukicho. It wasn't our first stay here. The hotel is clean and each room has a very good, big bathroom.

AustraliaThere was some noise that travelled up especially on the weekends. If you leave early morning there’s a lot of rubbish. It’s a small thing but I also didn’t like that you had to get one lift to the foyer and then a second to the rooms.
Very conveniently located, easy to find given there’s a huge Godzilla on top. Rooms served their purpose, the bathrooms were good. Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaThe buffet breakfast was poor and overpriced. For example, the scrambled egg was cold, there was no Italian coffee, and the selection of fresh fruits and vegetables was rather limited.
The location is great, close to the Shinjuku station. The neighbourhood is very lively, especially by night, but our room was still very quiet.

AustraliaRoom was tiny. I kept having to ask for an extra towel as they only provided two when we had three of us staying in the room (two adults plus one child). The Godzilla platform was closed during our stay.
Location, close to train station and central to the shopping and food outlets.

CanadaI wished I could have taken one of the hotel key cards home with me (it has a film strip design on it) but I needed to turn them into the machine in order to checkout.
The main lobby has Godzilla movie posters and displays. The Godzilla head unfortunately was closed due to repairs. The breakfast is a restaurant downstairs that offers a little of every kind of breakfast, from Japanese to Western to (I think) German breakfast food. The scrambled eggs were soupy the one day I went but that could've just been one day. The room itself is small, but that's normal for Tokyo. The bathroom/shower area is actually quite big and spacious. I loved it. The staff were accommodating.

AustraliaThe location in Kabuchiko is so central, it’s a brilliant base. The room itself was clean and well maintained. It was a bit smaller than we anticipated and we didn’t have a lot of room for our two large suitcases, but we absolutely made do! The staff were brilliant, the facilities great. Unfortunately there was no access to the Godzilla terrace while we were there, so we can’t comment on that particular aspect of the stay.

United KingdomThe room was dusty, as I have a bad dustmite allergy this made me a bit ill.
This is a budget option so the room reflects this, but it did the job and the location was right in the middle of the Shinjuku madness if you like that kind of thing.

LuxembourgGreat choices for breakfast but space is too small and tables are quite close to each other.
Multitude of restaurants around the hotel, only short walking distance to Shinjuku station. Reasonably sized rooms for Tokyo, despite extremely busy area no street noise even from the lowest 9th floor where I stayed, no noise from neighbouring rooms either.
