Outwardly the place looks a little run down, but I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and helpful staff and a really nice, clean, modern room with a nice bathroom.
The place seems to be in the process of a lot of refurbishments but I found that it met (and exceeded) my expectations for a budget hotel room.
Would not hesitate to return again…Thank you.

Clean and comfortable would definitely stay again.
This Victorian hotel is within easy reach of the M1, with free off-road parking and free Wi-Fi. Empire Hotel has individually designed en suite rooms, a cosy bar and extensive conference facilities.
Multicultural Leicester has a vibrant feel, partly due to the large student population of De Montfort and Leicester universities. The latter lines Victoria Park, whereas Abbey Park covers both banks of the River Soar and houses ruins of a 12th-century abbey that was the burial site of Cardinal Wolsey.
Richard III was also buried in the city and a commemorative statue sits in Castle Gardens, by the Newarke Houses Museum and St Mary de Castro Church. St Nicholas Church overlooks the Jewry Wall Roman bath remains, while the tall-spired cathedral is next to the half-timbered, medieval guildhall.
Nearby are the Highcross and Haymarket shopping centres, as well as Leicester Market – Europe’s largest outdoor covered market. The city centre is packed with restaurants and bars, and the Golden Mile of Belgrave Road has a wealth of curry houses and jewellery stores. It also hosts the largest Diwali celebrations outside India.
Other entertainment venues are Upper Brown Street and the futuristic-looking Curve Theatre. Equally modern in design is the National Space Centre, while the National Gas Museum is near King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City FC. Leicestershire Golf Course is one of 8 surrounding the city.
The Leicester accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels with spas, guest houses near the train station and cheap inns with parking.
Leicester is an everyday English town. It might be a city, I don't know, but that's probably semantics. It's really nothing at all to want to visit. I suppose if you live there it's functional, just like a broken kettle can still hold water, but it's not a 'place to visit', which probably sums up most places to be fair. There's not a lot else to say, really. If you have a reason to go, you'll go but it is overshadowed by bigger and better e.g. Nottingham, Birmingham, Coventry, Peterborough.

Leicester is a vibrant place, outstanding for the great mix of races and cultures that happily coexist in the city. There is so much to do and see, we enjoyed the New Walk Museum, Mexican fiesta in Silver Street and a wonderful authentic Turkish meal at Nazar in Evington Village this visit. There are lovely parks, and a walk in Bradgate park is a must, better still climb up to ‘Old John’ if you’re able. A good natured fun city, love to visit anytime.

Visit the Cathedral, King Richard visitor center.
Visit the Cathedral, King Richard visitor center. If you like ethnic food then you will find nowhere in UK more diverse. Visit the beautiful countryside, Bradgate Park and Foxton Locks. Do a walking tour of the City, a lot of history here.
Like any inner City, stay away from downtown at night if you're on your own.

Leicester is somewhere I would definitely return too.
Leicester is somewhere I would definitely return too. The people I met were friendly, helpful and polite. The shopping area had many shops to visit and catered for my needs. I wasn't able to visit more of the town ,due to length of my stay. The one negative, there wasn't a bus that goes to the train station.

Lovely city with interesting attractions ,everything is...
Lovely city with interesting attractions ,everything is walkable distance or easy access by public transport so great with kids. We went to the space centre which we loved with the kids. We also went to the Ninja Warrior UK experience ,my boys liked it. Another attraction which we managed to visit was the King Richard III Visitor Centre which was very nice and interesting. For food- all the usual places are easy to find and i saw lots of nice little cafe places as well.
Really clean room, towel provided. Nice room in a half house-share/half hotel.
But, there was no internet code given or left in the property, and the details to enter (keycode system) weren't sent in an email until AFTER I left, the day after. Luckily the man downstairs helped me.
The owner/landlord seemed helpful upon ringing for entry advice, and he did sound stressed. But there should be a bit more guidance and necessities left.
The location, a 2 minute walk and you are spoilt for choice of where to eat and the city centre is a 5 minute drive away.
The room was always nice and warm and the bed was comfy.
The shared bathroom was cleaned regularly and the host even left a jug in there (if you're Muslim you know what I'm talking about).
The host was super friendly and polite. Would definitely consider booking again / recommend to others if going to Leicester.
The price for my room was very low. In fact, apart from previously staying at a hostel years ago, it's the cheapest room I have ever stayed in. I had a secure room with a key, en suite toilet with a shower. The parking at the hotel was free and the hotel was only a 30 minutes walk to the city centre of Leicester, requiring a walk down a busy artery of the city with lots of shops - not through a dangerous neighbourhood for example.
Location was fine, a 5 minute walk down to the city centre. WiFi worked well. This is a place to choose for value, not amenities of comfort. It was a fairly last-minute booking for me, and I was only there a few nights, so had limited options. The place wasn't horrible, it was just a bit rundown and neglected, all of which is factored into the price I am sure.
This is a superb hotel - really can't be faulted. Super chic and really high level of cleanliness and decor. Excellent city centre location within walking distance of everywhere I needed to be. Free car parking for guests too, and full concierge service to sort out any issues. On top of all that, incredible value for money.
All the staff were really welcoming especially the breakfast staff. The room was beautiful with attention to detail and the bed so comfortable. Given that our room was directly above a local pub we were not disturbed. I would definitely recommend the Castle for a stay it's a 20 minute drive to Leicester City centre.
I absolutely love the layout and decor of the hotel. It's very unique and modern. I absolutely loved my bathroom as well. Walking distance of McDonald's and Morrisons. Several busses to the city center directly outside the hotel. There's a nice park across the street for kids and adult workout
I always love staying at the Belmont Hotel as the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
My room was clean, fresh and a wonderful comfortable bed for which I slept soundly and breakfast was delicious.
I will highly recommend the Belmont Hotel to all my friends and family.
I have a soft spot for this hotel. It oozes charm and has a great location near Leicester City Centre. The breakfast was excellent except they need to warm the plates. But wide choice and buffet food was hot, which elsewhere (in my experience) is not usual.
The hotel was perfectly located, right next to a big shopping mall and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Easy to get taxis or Uber to the location and fast access to motorway if you have business outside the city center, saves both time and money.
This is an ideally placed Guest House for Leicester. Easily accessed from the M1. A short bus ride to the city centre on the 50 or 51 bus. The host was lovely and friendly. Room facilities contained tea and coffee and a lovely shower in the bathroom.
Free easy parking. Close to the city centre and Fosse Park but quiet and relaxing. Clean and comfortable with a good breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Good facilities including tea and coffee making in the room and a lounge.
Close location to both city centre and railway station.Room was comfortable with good shower, whilst buffet style breakfast was fine and with good selection.
