The place was nice it's a five star hotel, it's a bit old but the room is very well taken care of, the pool was nice with a little jacuzzi but it's very very small for the size of the hotel, it was always busy and hard to find a sun bed around the pool! the outdoor pool we didn't try, The breakfast was rich and very good. All in all a very good stay with nice amazing views, all the rooms have seaview balconies, so don't pay extra for that!

Place is in a nice area. Hotel is small and quiet. Room was clean and rather big. I really appreciated receptionist explaining me everything slowly, so I can understand what she was saying, because I'm not that fluent in Spanish yet.

Beautiful Canarian style buildings in the 'old' town and lovely plazas. Plenty of good restaurants (we loved Arcon Tapas, Bambi Gourmet, La Taperia, Restaurant Herreria to name but a few). Easy access to other areas by buses. Good walking routes close by. Fantastic rugged coastline with crashing waves. Weekends can be a bit busy, even in winter (February/March). Loro Parque is a must.

Its peaceful and tranquillity although we did travel in February. Weather was hot with lovely breeze. Found a lovely little spanish burger bar Tui Burgers, very reasonably priced, friendly staff and lovely food. We hired a car as it was around an hours drive from villa to Siam Water Park and Mount Teide and 15mins drive to Lorro Parque. Both the Park & Lorro were busy even in February - would imagine they get overcrowded in summer months. Great place and would definitely go back.

This is not a bump bump music town it is for couples and families. There is a good contrast between old town and new. There is a mild surfer's beach at one end and a black sand beach at the other with the old town and harbour in-between. There is a good mix of shops and restaurants. It is flat walk right along the the water front. There are several parks to sit and relax in.
La Fragata at the old harbour is a great pub that also does coffee.

There are beautiful views, with beautiful black sand beaches and banana trees. The ocean from the north side of Tenerife is way too aggressive 🥲 with great waves and no possibility to swim.
The only tourist attraction is Loro park. Siam park and whale watching is on another side of the island. Though the prices for accommodation are pretty acceptable here.

I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005.
I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005. The town has become much more prosperous & international in the intervening two decades with many well known retail brands now well established here.
End of January/early February must be popular because we found the town crowded at every hour of the day or night. However, it is spotlessly clean and the new floral Avenue from the shopping centre to the Harbour/seaside is a welcome addition. I also appreciated the attractive new statue of the fisher girl selling her wares with a basket of octopus balanced on her head. (see photos).
Staff in cafes are polite and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
Food appears to be only average but we ate well at the Semiramis hotel.
The weather is idyllic; never too hot and often a fresh breeze blowing. Small wonder Tenerife is known as the Island of Eternal Spring.
Puerto, on NW coast of the island, receives a little more rain than other parts but has been suffering from a lack of precipitation in recent years. However, the abundance of colourful vegetation hasn't suffered unduly & the Botanic Gardens in La Paz are a shaded paradise of exotic greenery. Very restful & well worth visiting. (see photo of the Lily Pond there).
Finally.. did you know Agatha Christie was a resident here in 1927? (See photo : a selection of her book titles on a flight of steps in the old town). Every 2nd year there's a festival of plays and films in her honour...the centenary year is now only 3 years distant!

This is not a beach resort even though it has a few black sand beaches. It is primarily a resort for enjoying the superb surroundings, views and climate. It is pleasant to stroll around the resort. Bear in mind that it does rain here quite often which is why it is so green and verdant.

The hotel was very good and friendly. It is located on the seafront and very good sea view from the room. However, its location is in the North of Tenerife while all attractions are located in the south, including the airport and all water-based activities. the airport is well 90km away from the hotel.
The hotel has a very good swimming pool and jacuzzi. The hotel also has after-dinner entertainment shows.
The hotel is near to the high street and other utilities. it is part of a happening area filled with tourists.
Located in Northern Tenerife's green environment, outer the big parties and festivals, HC Hotel Magec offers you a lovely place to stay with a great value for the money. I got a qualitative room service every day. The senior lady in the restaurant was very kind to me at every meal, she is a really gold-hearted hostess. Both breakfast and dinner are continental-type with a wide variety of popular (and sometimes local) food with smart spicing. I definitely would return.
Food is excellent, great vegetarian options and loads of healthy food (fresh fruit, salads etc), great location for walking in northern Tenerife as in my previous review in June 2023. No problem this time either with smoke from neighbouring room. I had not read the hotel’s response to my previous review where I mentioned that passive smoke was the only negative aspect to our stay then. Good to know the hotel is listening. We will definitely be back again.
Mrs. Ana and her young helpers were very nice and helpful. They left some coffee, fruit and other amenities for us. They also helped us with some really good information about the local attractions and bars/restaurants. The complex itself is just beautiful, like a small botanical garden right at your doorstep, the swimming pools are huge and very well maintained. Fantastic location that we will be visiting the next time we're in Tenerife!
The hotel is located in the La Paz area of Puerto De La Cruz, which is very nice area but the hotel is close to very busy road, which spoils it a bit Also, from the room I stayed in, the view was on one side over El Teide but also on a petrol station. The room was clean and good enough for my stay (I was also working remotely). The bed was OK, but the pillows were not the best.
The location (Punta Brava) is great if you want to catch the local vibe instead of more touristy center of Puerto De La Cruz.
Also the hostel was very quiet at nights and no parties (silence started at 23:00).
Good privacy with large drapes on the beds. Definitely a great experience and exactly what I as a 35 yo solo traveller like to have.
This was a really great price for what you got. The location was excellent, nearby to the square which is a hub of activity and lots of restaurants and cafes (as well as a supermarket and the beach). It was quite easy to reach it from the airport (Tenerife south) as there are lots of buses, although it was quite a long journey.
It’s really nicely renovated, the location is great and the rooftop terrace with the view is the nicest! Probably the best looking hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. Breakfast was nice. It was really great being one of the first guests at the hotel that just reopened.
This was my second time I have stayed in Hotel Marte this year. It is an excellent choice, very close to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, as well as to the Bus Station, with very good breakfast, amazing and friendly staff and magic atmosphere :-}
The location in Taoro park was quite rural yet only a short ride by taxi into the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. It has always been a family run hotel and the family are always around to ensure the residents have the best possible experience
Lovely location. I highly recommend it. Great breakfast, very nice stuff, best location in Puerto de la Cruz. 10 for the cleanliness of the room, the pools and all the areas.
