Philadelphia is an exciting City to visit and live there are so many different things to enjoy all year around! There is boating to ice skating, dragon boat races to Disc Golf. The night life and the day time tours are special! You will always come back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
My only complaint of philly and Pennsylvania as a whole is having to get beer or alcohol at a state store instead of groceries. Wish we would’ve known before we headed to the hotel for the evening.
Lancaster, and the surrounding Amish/Pennsylvania Dutch country, is an anachronism. People used to come here for a restful weekend, to see the beautiful farms and countryside, and enjoy the ambience of a place apart from hectic modern life. The area has now become a tourist mecca; many of the locals, including Amish and Mennonite folks, earn their living from businesses associated with tourism. Add to that the Outlet Malls: Rockvale and Tanger, which attract thousands of shoppers, especially in the summer; even busier are weekends and holidays. To see much of what remains of the life set apart from modern society, one must travel off the beaten path; turn off the main highways and drive slowly past the farms where you can see the farmers plowing, planting, cultivating, or harvesting their fields with horse or mule-drawn equipment. Stop in at the "home-made root beer" or honey stands, visit the vegetable vendors who sell their goodies in season, and see the gorgeous quilts and furniture made by hand at small locally owned stores. Along with these, we recommend Kauffman's Fruit Market on Rt. 340, and Miller's Natural Foods. You will add them to your list of must-do activities when you return. Also, buggy rides and Cherry Crest Adventure Farm are fun for the kids. To sum up, Lancaster city is much less busy most of the time, but you're mainly coming here to get away from the city, right?
We love Bushkill, PA so much to do no matter the time of year!! Awesome pizza (large slices) at Guiseppe's Pizza & Pasta, Milford Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA (we had dinner here - pasta wasn’t that great, but pizza and wings were good. And the cannolis). And amazing food, as well as delicious hot chocolate at Forklift Cafe, Pennsylvania 739, Dingmans Ferry, PA (we had breakfast here).
I love small Pennsylvania towns. This was my fourth trip to Honesdale to attend a JOE CROOKSTON folk concert at The Cooperage. I’ve had overnight stays, but would like to stay longer to explore the town. Dinner at the Hotel Wayne was delicious and reasonably priced.
Lots of interesting places to visit, especially for history buffs. The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the Museum of the American Revolution are must-sees. The Independence Seaport Museum is good for anyone interested in ships and maritime history, and includes being able to go onboard a decommissioned cruiser and submarine. The Reading Terminal Market is great for local food specialties, including "Pennsylvania Dutch" products. On past trips to Philadelphia we have also enjoyed the zoo. Chinatown is worth a visit for those who like Asian cuisines (we had excellent ramen at Terakawa).
Beautiful location with incredible mountain views, amazing history, great restaurants, old fashioned working train station. Great location for a fabulous vacation for couples and families! One of our favorite places to visit year round in Pennsylvania! Also offers many seasonal festivals and a Opera house with great and a Varied performing entertainers!
We didn't visit the actually town of Gaines but explored the area around Rough Cut Lodge and of course the surrounding State Parks and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.A wonderful restaurant to eat at is the Log Cabin
Philadelphia was a big positive surprise for me. Wonderful museums for American history, for art and for archeology at University of Pennsylvania. Several classical music offerings and interesting dining.
I was there on a geocaching hiking Adventure. So The Great Outdoors of North Western Pennsylvania is something I love. Specific to Bradford is the rich history of the early days of oil industry.
Chambersburg
Over the summer of 2021 we have traveled to and from Pennsylvania to Virginia several times, the hotels were always disappointing no matter how much we paid. The Red Roof Inn in Chambersburg was the one wonderful exception. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable and everything worked as promised while the staff was courteous, knowledgeable and kind. We were so impressed that we immediately booked our return stay.
Staff was positive, helpful, friendly. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the shower had perfect water pressure. The location was great for our family vacation - easy drive to Hershey Park, about an hour to Gettysburg, and right next door to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. The grab n go breakfast had a decent variety (but suggest adding some fresh fruit) We would definitely stay again IF the pool was open
Same old WERPs, stinking it up, THEY live in all of Lehigh valley Pennsylvania hotels for free, or dope exchange 💱, AKA 50/50 split 🪓, Jew and a WERP, then LCNs famous cleanups, on my computer science forensics IDENTIFIERS linked to the REAL CATHLEEN WILK, me, big half million dollars in crypto from writing money, Roundup litigation settlement money, online ADVERTISING global DOLLARS.
Honesdale
I was welcomed and felt safe and comfortable. Clean and comfortable room. Like a homey atmosphere, a room in a house that is designed like a small town motel Inn. The price was a bit high for the location but the room made it worth the nights stay. Only other option is a more expensive old Hotel owned by the same company. Next time I would try the upper scale version of rural Pennsylvania
I came into town to see my daughter perform Holiday Inn with the Pennsylvania Playhouse. Great sold out show! It's fitting that I was staying at this Holiday Inn! It is very welcoming and clean. The staff is attentive and responsive to the guest's needs. They go over and above to exceed your expectations. This is the second time I've stayed here and it won’t be the last.
The game room and pool were a great attraction for our boys. They especially liked the pool slide. My wife really liked having a small kitchen with a stove top, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We experienced all the comforts of home. We have visited this Hotel five times in the past and will continue to use it in the future when driving to or through Pennsylvania.
This is a beautiful old hotel. I was traveling to Connecticut, on my way back from Indiana, where I got my puppy, and I hadn't heard of the hotel, but I was SO pleasantly surprised. It's a grand place, the room was fabulous and huge, and everyone I spoke to was helpful and friendly. I hope I have to go through Pennsylvania again just so I can stay there!
This was my home when I went to Erie, Pennsylvania, for work. The hotel was an excellent value for money. It was a peaceful place to stay and all the facilities in my room worked real fine. The breakfast was okay and the members of staff were nice. The location was excellent. In short, if you are travelling on budget this is the place for you to stay!
I liked that it was right near the town of Gettysburg Pennsylvania, I wanted to take a vacation there with my girlfriend and I. And everything about the hotel it was clean and very decent sized room to stay in. It had a nice sized half bath and two big queen sized beds. Also had a microwave and a mini fridge along with lots of light and a tv.
I’ve stayed at dozens and dozens of hotels in Pennsylvania but this one stands out. The staff felt like family. Almost was like staying with extended family. They were helpful and very friendly. Definitely worth the money. Can’t wait for my next stay there. A week after leaving my son kept asking when we’re going back to the “fun” hotel.
Customer service helped me get the correct name of the hotel and correct passcode to get into the room. My booking location was supposed to be called “The Pennsylvanian” on my email but it wasn’t so I had a hard time finding it when the address took me to the Amtrak parking downstairs (and not the main entrance). Customer service helped.
Hershey
I liked everything about it! It surpassed my expectations. The outside of the building looks old but to our surprise the room was not, it was great, updated and the cleanest of all the hotels I’ve stayed in during my travels around Pennsylvania in the last few weeks. I will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.
The Penn Wells Hotel is a Grand Dame' destination hotel. Nestled in a wonderful part of Pennsylvania, The Penn Wells offers visitors access to all the amenities of Pennsylvania's Grand Canon for amazing views, birding and hiking and biking. The staff is always extremely hospitable and the place is just squeaky clean.
For my purpose it is centrally located and very convenient. It is a pleasure to find a clean, comfortable, well-priced hotel. I will be using this location as a "home office" when traveling in Pennsylvania/Maryland The coffee was great and available anytime!! And a free breakfast can never be overlooked!
Tru was an excellent travel experience. From Marjie at the front desk helping me with my reservation and going above and beyond to ensure my comfort to the clean and tidy room...I do not have enough nice things to say about this hotel. We will be staying here anytime we are in Pennsylvania.
The bed was very comfortable and the whole apartment was extremely clean and well taken care of. There is a pizzeria nearby and a dollar store too. I took the bus there from the train station and walked to the Pennsylvania Farm Complex in about 30 mins
Lancaster
Was very reminiscent of my childhood trips to Pennsylvania. Very simple and cozy. No big thrills and not a million rooms, not a chain hotel. Very quite, we never heard our neighbors. We appreciate simplicity.
Somerset
This was the first hotel we used in Pennsylvania since we arrived from Texas and they we very polite and the price was great. It's also located near alot of things in the town so you can get alot done.
The room was clean and modern, with abundant electrical receptacles and USB receptacles. Location is excellent, especially for Pennsylvania Convention Center. Room temperatures are easy to control.
The hotel felt fresh and clean! The lobby was warm and welcoming complete with beautiful Christmas Decorations. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in when I travel to Pennsylvania.
