Merino Cottage Meadowbank Lake, hotel in Ellendale

Set in Ellendale in the Tasmania region, Merino Cottage Meadowbank Lake offers accommodation with free private parking. This holiday home provides a garden.

Merino Cottage Meadowbank Lake is a destination and sanctuary. Driving through the merino farm to get to the Cottage was a wonderful experience. There is plenty of heaters and extra blankets, a TV, books and games to enjoy. We arrived to a lovely warm house equipped with fresh milk, orange juice, a variety of cereals, bread and condiments. The pantry also had extra condiments which is great when you are travelling as this property is on a working farm so not near shops. We had the most restful and relaxing stay. Only a few weeks before our April stay, people had visited who swam in the nearby waterhole! We really appreciated having a washing machine and dryer available, as we were moving around Tasmania and not always had those facilities. PIP is a great host & we loved meeting her and hearing about the history of the farm and her family’s connection to the area. All in all, this is a fabulous place to stay.

I'm happy to see the Alpaka through the window, especially when I wake up in the morning. I try to take a walk in the night but I can't see any. It was so dark. :) So comfy bed, quiet area, enough space and clean. I recommend it to everyone.

Just be mindful you are staying on a working Merino Farm and not near shops. Bring in the majority of your food you need. The peace, quiet and solitude was why we chose Merino Cottage and we were delightfully pleased with our stay. We could have stayed another night!

Beautiful peaceful. The cottage was awesome, the fire box set to go kept it warm & cosy. The bed cosy also. Very clean cottage , I didn’t want to leave. Looking out over the hills with a glass of wine, cheese & bikkies at the end of the day. The managers were very approachable. Not far from National Park & Gordon Dam & National Park Hotel - best burgers ever.
