Good location right on the edge of downtown, staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with some nice vegan options. Room was fine, two queen size beds for our family of four was much better than two double beds which are often found in hotels. Overall the room was decent, bathroom could use an upgrade but everything was clean and well maintained.

I seen development in the City since the last time I have visited. The city is no longer boring, but getting vibrant with many amenities and opportunities.
Smaller City but has everything what's needed for a modern urban life.

I was there primarily to see "Mandy Patinkin in Concert", so I can't review Halifax for you, other than the driving experience... Street signage could be better in a lot of the downtown core... but yes to coming back to see more of it....

I've stayed in this city many times.
I've stayed in this city many times. Always lots to do no matter what your interests. It has a pretty vibrant night life, and I've always felt safe here, no matter where I walked. Lots of history, lots of night life, lots of dining options (Seafood is a MUST!!), lots of tours, museums, etc. I live in Ottawa, and Halifax easily compares in the museum and history aspects, and in some ways is even better. Go there. You won't be disappointed!!

Halifax is fantastic.
Halifax is fantastic. We travelled there 2 Septembers in a row (4 and 2 days respectively). if you stay downtown, you are able to walk to all the local attractions- we especially loved the boardwalk, citadel, and shopping downtown. Many many fabulous restaurants and museums. Also, fun to stay in Halifax proper and take excursions to local attractions( ie Peggy's Cove and Laurencetown beach) Prepare for rain - but this in no way detracts from having fun in this great city

If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour.
If you only have a bit of time do the harbour hoppers tour. Lots of historical information about Halifax. A tour of the Citadel, important or historical sites and a brief trip into the bay to see the Halifax Harbour. Two thumbs up and very reasonably priced.

Halifax is more of a town than a city.
Halifax is more of a town than a city. I would say 2 days is ample, 3 at the most. I would say it's a walkable place but I walk mostly everywhere. If you use transit (bus, ferry) or use the bridges - you need to have cash (coins - $1 and 25 cents).
The ferry across to Dartmouth is a fun little outing.
The Titanic exhibition in town is informative but over-priced. At most you will spend an hour in it.
I found Halifax a curious mix of individuals - lots of students and a fair amount of homeless folk. Some folk were super friendly but there does seem to be an element of 'tension' between the locals and the more transient populations - tourist, students, cruise people. I've travelled a lot and have never had that sense of tension before.
Accommodation is super expensive or pretty basic. I stayed in a hotel in the North end, it wasn't cheap, $168/night and it was not good.
My overall recommendation on Halifax - Go take a look for a few days but head off to see the rest of NS.
Great hotel, all the facilities you’d expect (and hope for) including hair dryer, ironing board, coffee machine, huge (!) tv and fridge. We asked for a kettle and it was provided. We had a queen with balcony and harbour view, which was lovely.
Halifax is very walkable and the hotel is perfectly placed to do that on the periphery of downtown.
Lovely warm, informative and efficient welcome from Tim on reception.
Lots of parking available at hotel for CAD20 a day.
Nice pool and gym.
The front desk staff are really friendly and fast, check-in was easy. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The bed was fantastic! I had an amazing sleep. The fitness room is incredible, they also have a separate room for Yoga and meditation. We had breakfast both days st the restaurant: very good. We did not have a car so were walking and ubering: it is a 45 minute walk to the ferry, which we enjoyed, and an $18 uber from downtown Halifax. I'd recommend this hotel.
the prince george hotel and a in a great location between the citadel and the wharf and is perfect for exploring Halifax. The beds were very comfortable with a variety of pillows and bedding to suit all. The rooms are clean and quiet and service is excellent. While we took advantage of the rooftop bar for happy hour and nibbles we opted to explore nearby cafes for breakfast.
The hotel is close to highway exits which was good for us as we were interested in taking day trips. There are lot of restaurants and stores near by. We took an Uber downtown one night to see downtown Halifax. The staff are very nice and the rooms were cleaned every day which doesn’t seem to be the norm right now. They also have laundry facilities available.
We always stay here when in Halifax. We had a very spacious suite with a wonderful view. Two large flat screen tvs also. Excellent leisurely breakfast with lots of choice.
The price was so reasonable too - one wouldn't get accommodation in a two bit hotel in Ireland for what we paid. I love the Cambridge Suites. Fantastic location and friendly, welcoming staff.
I stayed at both the Lord Nelson and Marriott Downtown hotels during my stay in Halifax. My room at the Lord Nelson was cheaper and yet 10x better than my room at the Marriott. It was a little busy when I checked-in but the staff in front assisted me as to where I can temporarily park. Great location just in front of the Halifax Public Gardens.
Perfect location to explore downtown Halifax - walking distance to the Citadel, waterfront and many restaurants/pubs. Staff was always very friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub in the rooftop. Everything we needed for our stay in the city!
Their breakfast was amazing! a lot of selections and nice view from the restaurant. Our room was a lake view and it was clean. And location was close to enough to downtown Halifax. Also they have an arcade in the hotel which was great. My family enjoyed playing their.
Clean and comfortable. Location is a bit out of the way as we didn't have a vehicle so we relied on ride sharing and was reasonable to downtown Halifax. Lots of kids in the hotel and it sounded like the pool area was popular. Breakfast was tasty too.
Great location in downtown Halifax, walkable to everything on the waterfront. Clean, parking on site, AC, lovely sitting area, staff was very helpful with good recommendations for dining.
My first choice every time I stay downtown Halifax! We usually come to drink and super close to bar strip and other amenities! Prices are decent rooms are nice and staff are friendly
This is a beautiful and very elegant hotel! the staff are truly amazing, the valet parking is the perfect option for busy downtown Halifax. We loved everything about our stay.
the location is the best literally the 320 bus from the airport dropped us in front of the hotel and from there it was fun walks to anywhere in downtown Halifax .. the wifi
