We enjoyed how the Hotel was interactive- more than just a lobby & restaurant.
We inadvertently forgot a small pillow from home,in our room when we checked out. Initially, the first time we phoned about it, we were told that it was our responsibility to arrange for shipping it back to us. The second call to Hotel Zed, the person answering immediately said that they could send it to us ~ no problem. We received it back yesterday. It may be just a pillow , but it has extreme sentimental value.
Tofino Resort + Marina is the ideal place to experience Tofino, Canada’s famous west coast surfing destination. Tofino is so much more than surfing though.

The property was actually a little nicer than we expected.....perhaps because we got an upgrade to our room which had a bit of a view of the water. Nice big comfy bed, good sized room and a clean bathroom.

We loved Tofino and highly recommend it for a stay.
We loved Tofino and highly recommend it for a stay. Beautiful part of the country. Great food. Lots of outdoor activities. Took a boat trip with Remote Passages to see the bears and it was a fantastic 3 hours. Stayed at Chesterman beach which is a great location - Seafarer B&B (friendly, comfortable and quiet). Had huge breakfasts provided at the B&B and didn’t need to eat again until dinner! Had great meals at The Shelter and Roar (which is in the Zed Hotel) Restaurants. Drove 40 minutes to Ucluelet one day to walk tracks around Wild Pacific Rim. Fantastic photos - eagles, seal, landscape, rock pools. Lovely cafes.

Tofino is worth the drive.
Tofino is worth the drive. Loved the casual vibe of this remote surf town. In winter it was delightful. We went up to Ucluelet and did a walk. We surfed in very thick wetsuits, and we had a sauna on the beach. The whale watching in winter didn't seem to be so easy to find.

What an absolutely interesting place!
What an absolutely interesting place! And we experienced both a trees breaking, power outing ferocious storm, and some pleasant and moderately sunny weather. Our stay at the Tin Wis Resort was beyond our expectations. We look forward to coming back, maybe in the summer next time.

Visiting in the "off season" was very nice.
Visiting in the "off season" was very nice. Everyone seemed relaxed and there were no crowds. Lots of free parking available. Most stores/restaurants were open. Some of the tour groups were still operating as well.
Co-op was a great place for reasonably priced groceries, including a deli/bakery.
Trails were well groomed and easy to locate. Try to work in the Bog Boardwalk trail as it's a very unusual area.
People were still surfing/kayaking, etc.

The 1.5 hr seaplane flight with Atleo was excellent - stop at a remote lake for a swim, see the coast, the interior, - just excellent.
Food was disappointing - by the sea yet very few served seafood that focused on the seafood - the focus seemed to be on having as many flavours as possible
The rooms were absolutely beautiful with very nice decor, ours being Portside, all done in blue and ocean like experience. I’d have to rate our breakfast as excellent, going above and beyond with our meal. So delicious. Maria and John were the best, so friendly and made us feel right at home. It was good they supplied us with rain jackets as we enjoyed the walks on the beach and road. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us..
Fabulous location, unique accommodation (enjoyed it was a not a large hotel chain), close to main town area and could leave our car and walk to where we needed to go, the ocean view, the front deck where we could eat or drink coffee, the outdoor shower and sauna. Fridge and small kitchen unit was nice along with the coffee and tea provided. Overall it was such a nice treat to stay here. Easy to check-in and good parking.
Location is perfect, right on McKenzie Beach and a nice walking distance to Tofino. The kitchen amenities are just ok. We were lucky that our cabin had a nice unobstructed view of the ocean. Most cabins off the beach would only have a view of another cabin, unless you’re on the upper floor. Staff was amazing. The cabin was very clean, and they have fire pits to sit around!
This hotel is right on the water and right in town. It is perfectly placed to enjoy and beautiful water view out your window and to be within walking distance to all that the town of Tofino has to offer. Very close to a local coffee shop for a morning stroll to coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All around wonderful place!!
I’ve stayed at the venerable Schooner Motel several times over the past 30 years. It’s a Tofino institution. It’s in a great part of town, within walking distance of sights and restaurants. It has plenty of free parking. Staff/owners are very pleasant and accommodating. The room I had was nice and clean with a very comfortable bed.
The tree house room was unbelievably romantic and chic. The view was unmatched and everything felt very bespoke. Access to Tofino and Ukee were super easy. There was only one charge port but I was able to use it as much as needed and we did a lot of back and forth in the EV so that was key. The staff are very friendly.
The location was great very close to the ocean. The place was quiet at the same time very near Tofino downtown. The hotel staff was cooperative and tried to address the issues in a timely manner. They compensated with a free restaurant voucher.
Views of the ocean and sunset were amazing and visible from our room. Also, being on the ground floor is definitely best! Our room was set back, which was much better as there was less foot traffic around our room.
Room was spacious and very comfortable, plus cute decor. Location was convenient to get to downtown Tofino. Staff was friendly! Easy to check put since there was a key drop.
Loved the retro decor and feel of the hotel. Staff was wonderful. Location was fantastic close to the beaches, not too far from downtown Tofino and right on the trail.
We were upgraded to a room with balcony and view. I think we got the best room in the house. It was very spacious and had a view that was out of this world!
