We arrived and didn't think much of the city driving through but we were so relieved as we rounded the corner to find our accommodation, a gorgeous guest house in the town square with fountains in front of it. The host was very friendly and served great beer on solid wooden table and benches in the square. No food but she recommended some local places including a great little pizzeria nearby. There was a brilliant bakery next door for morning pastries and bread and a friendly ice cafe across the square which we would have definitely sampled had we the time to stay longer. The host organised safe parking for our bikes. Bring cash, no card payment possible. Beds were comfy and clean and there was a well organised kitchen for cooking. There were plenty stairs but it really was worth it to get to the lovely rooms upstairs. There was a church bell ringing next door but we didn't mind the music, in the morning we looked out the window to find a local farmers market full of fresh produce.
