If you are interested in history and culture, this is the city for you. Beautifully restored remains from all periods of the city's history. Because of this, however, the historic quarters are always full of tourists during the day, and there is a surfeit of shops selling souvenirs. The streets are cobbled and steep, so be prepared to work hard! We were most interested in the Jewish Quarter and this did not disappoint, with many historic buildings well preserved and accessible. For a popular tourist city it was disappointing that much of the exposition in many of the monuments and historic buildings was only in Spanish. This is, however, a common problem in Spain, despite the fact that the majority of tourist speak English. (We live in Valencia and it's the same here). The tourist map. free from the tourist office, has an English version but the streets are so narrow, with so many small plazas, the, despite the fact that we enlarged it, the map was difficult to use. We would recommend buying a better quality large-scale map. Food-wise, there are many good restaurants with a wide range of cuisines and all our experiences eating out were good or excellent.

    Just an amazing, wonderful city.

Just an amazing, wonderful city. So many fascinating places including the white synagogue, El Greco museum, Cathedral and the general ambiance of the old city. We loved the tourist train that went around the city. It's a short (30 min) train ride from Madrid; book this in advance, they fill up, that's why we had to take the less desirable bus. Very walkable but realize it's all up and down, might be difficult for some people. Definitely stay overnight; tourists go home at night and you have the city to yourself. We ate at more or less randomly chosen little places that were uniformly good.

The old city of Toledo looks magnificent from the parador or from across the valley. There is an attractive river walk outside the city wall with historic bridges which lead up to the city. There are many cobbled streets to wander around but we couldn’t find a quiet traffic free square to enjoy a coffee and people watch. For me, the skyline was the most memorable part of my visit.

The hotel is lovely and very traditional as we expected being in the old town of Toledo. The location is fantastic being close to everything we wanted to see and also close to the stop to catch the hop on hop off bus which we like to do everywhere we go. Reception recommended a place for dinner which was ok if a bit up market for us as we like to go where the locals go. Nonetheless we had a good meal. We did better the following day finding a place close to the main town square. We added breakfast for our first morning. See below

Perfect hotel in Toledo! Located right beside Plaza Zocodover, and very easy to find and get back to after a day of walking around the city centre. If you go by car it's best you leave it outside the centre (there is a free park but the hotel also gives you a discount for an underground parking) and just use the escalators to go up to the Plaza, it's very easy! The hotel was delightful, very comfortable, quiet and clean, and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We were delighted with our stay and hope to get back soon!

The best feature of this apartment is the view from the balcony, where we could see the Toledo Cathedral lighted up at night. Breathtaking. We also like that the apartment is spacious with comfortable beds. The decor is elegant and well decorated. Having 1.5 bathrooms is also convenient if one of us is taking a shower. It’s one of the best apartments that we have stayed in. Pepa is a nice host who gave us great recommendations for restaurants and helped us to book a taxi for a very early check out. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic family run hotel, I would 100% recommend this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights solo for a local wedding. Hotel is half way up the hill at the very edge of the old town, so benefits for great views and is away from noise and hustle of more central venues. I had one of the smaller rooms, but this was more than adequate. The manager/host was very warm and welcoming and is much the reason I rate the hotel so high. Should I ever return to Toledo I would certainly stay here.

Best place in town, an outstanding experience! If you can, stay here! Casa Palacio Rincon de la Catedral is an old historical house, it is in the middle of the old town of Toledo and all places of interest are in front of the door. At the same time it is very quiet and you can enjoy your stay in unique rooms. Also the service is unbelievable, it is more like visiting friends or family and I had the best breakfast I ever had. The location is amazing in the center of old town. It has a special feel to stay in a place with such ancient history. Under the apartment are some Roman Thermal baths that they found during the renovation. ( entrance is free). But the highlight of this stay was meeting Miguel, our host and the best ambassador for Toledo. we will love to come back with the rest of the family.
