Excellent hosts with a smile on their faces and always happy to assist. We had our plan on what to visit and where to eat, but they provided us with a map of the area and very good restaurant choices! Very clean room and very nice Mountain view from it.
Offering a pool and a bar, the stone Avragonio is located 984 feet from Papigo Village center.

The place was very special and nicely decorated.
The guy what works there was always helpful and pleasant, but his English was not so good so sometimes was hard to communicate.
The location was great as well and close to restaurants in the village.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s the only building covered in lush ivy in the charming village of Papingo, a short walk to the restaurants in the town center but far enough to be really quiet at night. Our room was exceptional - two levels, with a nice sitting area and bathroom on the ground floor, and a spacious and comfortable bed on the loft above. The room has great views of the spectacular mountains surrounding Papingo. Our host Dimitris was wonderful - he helped with car parking, offered great suggestions for hikes in the area, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a special place. We really loved it and hope to come back again!

Very polite and helpful personal. Breathtaking view!

I highly recommend to stay in this hotel

Papigko is a beautiful village, cobbled streets with quaint shops, bars and restaurants and stunning views of surrounding mountains. The only disappointment was that it seems in mid-September many bars and restaurants seem to close for at least a week break (some maybe a little longer). We were informed it was a break before the autumn/winter season starts. However there was still some places to eat and drink so all was ok. Lots a walking trails around for keen hikers. Well worth a visit to this Village, you would not be disappointed.

we visited during summer and it was the busiest village of Zagoria which made it more socializing than others. Also it has cute coffee shops and
tavernas almost every corner. It also has access to multiple good hiking routes as well as springs and lake so you dont have to travel far to access hiking paths if you are short in time or dont want to do another adventurous car ride up in the mountain.

There are tons of things to do in and around Papigko. From the walks around the picturesque village, to exploring the culinary experiences on offer, to the serene hikes and the Papigko rock pools. Before reaching Papigko, be sure to stop on the banks of the Boithomatis river and have a dip in the cold waters on a hot summer's day. The place is equally as breathtaking in the winter as it is in the summer. The air is clean it almost has a taste to it from all the lovely flora and fauna. Don't miss out, go there and you will find welcoming locals and memories to last you a lifetime.

Papigko is situated in the Zagoria mountains with interesting history and spectacular scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks in the mountains and in the Vikos Gorge. The surrounding villages have lots to see with interesting architecture and history. Our 5-night visit was just right. Greece has so much more to offer than just lovely beaches!

When you are at Papigko, you should visit Ovries, the local summer natural complex of small pools between Mikro and Megalo Papigko. Mikro Papigko for its nice view from to of the mountain and for hiking to Drakolimni. River Voidomatis for rafting is another location to visit.
Location was good at the entrance to Papigo. The Villa is super nice and super clean. Beds were just wonderful!! The host is very kind and responsive. There was no breakfast and we didn’t know that in advance and there was no place to buy ingredients when we figured this out. We had issue with one of the toilet rooms so we couldn’t use it. Nevertheless there were 3 in total so it wasn’t a big issue. Some basic ingredients were missing like salt. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay and have many memories from our stay. Many thanks!!
The friendly staff welcomed us as we arrived and upgraded our room to a bigger one upstairs. It seems like all the rooms have a great view to the mountains and you can even enjoy it at the hotel's bar. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. There are some restaurants near by and Pipigo is less than 10 minutes away. You can find a few parking spots right next to the hotel and there are plenty more down the road. If you plan to go hiking in the mountains, the path starts right next to the hotel.
The location is astonishing and the hotel was fitting just right into it. Combining the traditional architecture with modern design and cozy interiors. Our room was a studio with fire place, a double bed and a couch. The use of the spa with sauna and a swimming pool was just amazing! The breakfast was gorgeous and generally the food in the restaurant was very tasty. Try the tagliata, it is worth it!
The personal was very kind and helpful. They transported our luggage and took along me and our small kid up to the hotel.
Breakfast was very nice with fresh eggs prepared for us, amazing views of the Towers of Astraka. Avragonio is like a small village within a village. Very well taken care of. The room was really warm, clean and spacious. The crib was ready in our room as we had requested. the personnel was very polite. They even called us personally to inform us about a power strike that would happen during the night in case we needed to prepare anything beforehand for the baby. This was very much appreciated.
Great location to start the path to the dragon lake. The apartment looks very nice and clean. Great breakfast. You have a small fridge and an oven in the room, other kitchen staff is given on a request. There is no parking close to the house, park your car at the entrance of the village. It's necessary to call the host - he meets the guests on a quadrobike to help with the baggage. Booking showed wrong GPS coordinates - just search "traditional" in Google maps.
Great place to spend a few days in the mountain, we used it as a base for walking the vikos gorge and rafting the voidomatis river. Vangelis is a great host, breakfast is simple but perfect and really enough. Bathroom is small but clean and again, perfect for staying in Papingo. Don't expect hotel amenities, it is a guesthouse. But totally recommended!
The hotel sits in the ancient town, the building and room are from the old time, we love the atmosphere here, it bring you back in time! We were late for checkin because of the delayed ferry, the Staff Dana knows we were coming and waited for us even through she couldn’t get to us. What a local hotel experience! And breakfast is great too!
Perfect location in the top of the village with amazing mountains view in nice shared balcony, private parking area, well equipped and clean rooms, authentic and beautiful style. Breakfast was beyond expectations. We even bought a jar of their perfect homemade orange jam for few Euros. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
The breakfast is good, but not outstanding
A must stay to experience, even only slightly, living in a farm house, rather than a hotel. If you are interested, the owner will be happy to talk about the place, and life in such a remote village, which is very interesting, in particular for people like us from a very different background
For us best accomodation in Zagori. Worth to reach this end-of-the-world village only to stay here. Tina, the manager, is fantastic. The property is ancient from 1814 and ashtonishing restored. Forget any other restaurant in Zagori, Papigo Towers is quality first, any food here is a tasty superfood. Best value!
Yorgus is so kind. Makes it feel like home.
The hotel is actualy a place of comfort and safe place to return once the day ends.
The view is amazing.
Yorgus is amazing.
The experiance was just excellent
Giota is the best host I have ever met. The kids liked very much the place and the room. The location is great, in the heart of Megalo Papigo which is the most beautiful villages in the area.
This hotel was in a lovely spot at the edge of village. Convenient hiking paths right outside the hotel door. Beautiful view of the mountains from our room.
The hotel is situated very close to the parking (cars are not allowed in the village). Spacious room. All staff was very kind. Simple yet filling breakfast.
