We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Crystal River and it was really nice and very clean! We did two different Tours during our stay. The first was a swim with manatees tour. I booked it with Explorida and they were amazing! On our tour we had Gavin and Gloria, they were truly amazing at what they do. You can tell they can about the animals and want to keep everyone safe.
The second was an air boat tour in Homosassa. Which is about 20 minutes south of Crystal river. The boat ride was beautiful and we got to see dolphins!
Overall the trip was a lot of fun and would Highly recommend!

Beautiful area, with a lot to explore.
Beautiful area, with a lot to explore. My schedule only allowed 1/2 day. I would recommend visiting mid-week, NOT during Spring break. I rented a kayak for 3 hours from Hunter Springs Kayaks (highly recommend them!), with the intention of swimming with manatees. I only saw 1 manatee while swimming, plus a couple more from the kayak, since it was late in the season for seeing manatees. Next time I'll plan on visiting earlier in the season, midweek

Crystal River is an adorable little beach town full of nature loving people, artists, veterans, and retirees. We had a wonderful time there snorkeling with manatees, boating, kayaking, and exploring Heritage Village. Highly recommended for a long weekend trip.

Three sisters spring was very nice saw a lot of manatees and the trails were nice. Parking was limited. Kayak rental was pricey and not worth it. We did see manatees but the bay was crowded the water murky until you got near the springs. Would not recommend kayaking in the bay and channels. There are much better places to kayak . If you love seafood eat at the Crab Plant. Casual dining with great food and a big variety of fresh caught seafood.

Crystal River is the most beautiful little town we have ever visited. Everything is manatee-themed, even down to some of the streetlights! There are lots of things to do, especially if you love nature and wildlife. Scalloping, hiking, swimming with manatees, and kayaking just to name a few. There are also lots of great dining options available, especially the seafood! It is a cultural hotspot as well, with lots of murals, galleries, museums, and historical sites to see. We will definitely be back and hope to stay longer next time.
The room was pretty clean. I always travel with my own pillows and blankets though, the bed wasn't too terribly bad. It could be replaced with a new one though. The property itself is in a great location for launching a boat with the marina right behind it. The pool area was nice and it has a good size courtyard in the middle of the hotel by the pool that has a shuffle board and a covered out building with a grill. Denny's is also right on the property. Plenty of parking for trailers and larger vehicles.
Exceptionally well planned accommodation with tremendous facilities as described. Well sited with many Crystal River facilities just around 10 minutes away e.g. manatees, boat trips, traditional breakfast diner, Publiks (for stocking up). The weather wasn't ideal, so we found the games room ideal (useful ping pong kit) and the Roku TV meant that apps could be easily accessed. Parking in the drive also very helpful. While we were a small group there would certainly be room for many more..a real bargain.
We liked that the hotel was near the water and my family and I were able to rent a pontoon boat and fish on the property. The staff was very welcoming and it felt safe. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff were accommodating and very helpful. My husband and I liked having a kitchenette and balcony in our room. The hotel is not far from grocery stores and restaurants.
We absolutely loved our stay- the room was beautiful, the location was perfect, we loved the garden on the hotel grounds and the nearby parks. Breakfast pastries were delicious, and everyone who helped us during our stay provided such wonderful hospitality- Our stay at Crystal manatee was honestly the hi-light of our trip.
very tired hotel could be o much more staff were very helpful and friendly but the bar and restaurant was expensive for what it was
views were exceptional ...this hotel has so much potential but its tired and worn out
The Plantation is in a fantastic location. It is convenient to so many things in Crystal River. The hotel itself is old, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The cleaning staff did an excellent job.
i went to the crystal river area for a relaxing get away for fishing and just chilling. the lodge is next to several great fishing spots and campgrounds the perfect spot for all i wanted to do relax and fish
Always great customer service a very clean and quiet hotel Hampton is the best chain as far as I'm concerned and a quick commute to all local vacation spots!
