The correspondence with staff before and during check-in was good. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, keeping the rooms cool especially at night but without excessive noise or blasts of air.

We were right in town, close to the cafes, restaurants and shopping. The train was startling at first (especially the first night) but we embraced and loved it by the end. We would get so excited when we could hear the ding ding dings in the distance and run out on the front porch and wave. We had a 6- and 7-year-old with us who absolutely loved it. There was plenty of towels, the showers had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Every bathroom had hand soap. The kitchen was fully loaded with paper towels, trash bags, dish soap and dishwasher pods. The hot tubs was HUGE! There were 7 of use total and we all fit very comfortably. The neighbors were super nice also. They had cats and ponies that they let us pet and love on. We also loved the front porch. We sat out on the porch allot drinking coffee and talking while watching the cars and people walking go by. It was a girl's trip celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday and she kept telling me .... "This house is awesome Mom thanks so much for making the arrangements". We visited the Caverns which were amazing and ate dinner the Chop House Bistro. We had a most excellent time!

Loved the view and the outdoor balcony!!! The staff was very kind and friendly and gave our stay a down home feel. They were also very helpful in assisting us with ideas of things to do in the area for the amount of time we had here. The room was a traditional style but very clean and spacious. I LOVED it here!!!

Very laid back and relaxing. Very clean. Close to all the touristy stuff, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. I like kids, but the "no children" policy was nice, too. The decor was inviting and tasteful but still comfortable and functional. A perfect balance.
Hawksbill House will be my first choice from now on. Thank you for a great stay!

We liked the town very much. The caverns were wonderful experience and Cooters place was amazing. Just didn't like the Motel The Cardinal Inn it was disgusting. We will never use booking.com again.

We enjoyed the trip over Skyline Drive.
We enjoyed the trip over Skyline Drive. Glad we picked a sunny day. We had a nice breakfast at the Gathering Grounds cafe in Luray, steak dinner at Dan's Steakhouse, and Italian at Dominico's in Luray. The best kept secret for good country breakfast and lunch is the Hawksbill Diner in nearby Stanley VA.
Also enjoyed visiting the New Market battlefield and Route 11 Potato Chip factory.
Shenandoah Caverns is different from Luray Caverns, and features an amazing side attraction of animated scenes made for parade floats.
Skyline Caverns is not recommended for small children or adults with balance issues, as the walkway is uneven, steep in some places, and wet in others. It does have one rare and beautiful type of calcite formation that only exists one other place in the world.

The caverns are ok.
The caverns are ok. For me, it turned out that I was bored almost immediately. 40 feet of cave is pretty much a synopsis for the remaining tour. Marketing at it's best unless you are bonkers for caves. The is an antique car museum on site which was just wow. Super cool cars that were very presentable and interesting all around. The zoo in Luray was nice. It is a retirement/ rescue zoo. I love those. Great restaurants. There is an escape room. Remote town, very perfectly laid back.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Shenandoah.
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Shenandoah. There is a lovely walking trail in this charming town. My foodie husband got his breakfast at Broad Poarch while I preferred the 24 hour SevenEleven. I like that kind of coffee better! We never made it to the caverns but will for sure next time. You have to get to the national park early to avoid the crowds and lines. Be sure to eat the world's best barbecue at Triple Crown. You can go there in your hiking clothes and you won't leave hungry. Catch the sunset on the Storybook Trail in the George Washington National Forest on Mt. Massenutten.

Really liked Luray as a town.
Really liked Luray as a town. Last minute “fun” trip with my husband. People very friendly. Jess’ world famous hotdogs were nothing to speak of just a regular hotdog. Backporch coffee great little coffee shop. We love the Main Street of town, caverns and sky line drive. Will definitely go again.
Luray was perfectly located for exploring the Shenandoah National Park, our main reason for going. It's 20 minutes from the park entrance and in the center of the park, making all of our explorations very accessible. The Court Street inn is easy walking distance from several very good restaurants, a craft brewery, free live music in the park and beer garden in Luray. We spent our days hiking in the park, and evenings relaxing with great food, drink and music. A great weekend getaway. Will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
The best supplied kitchen, there was even a waffle maker. We enjoyed the quiet and enjoyed nature to its fullest. Deer walked through the yard, camp fire a night with the sound of crickets and watching fire flies. The cabin is small but easily designed to suite a family. Much better than a hotel. A great stay for easy access to the things we planned on doing on our vacation.
Beautiful old building in lovely grounds. Good atmosphere and tastefully furnished throughout. Welcoming fire in the hallway set the tone. Room comfortable with large bathroom. Easy distance from local sights - Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive. Staff very helpful and friendly. Speakeasy restaurant offered wide range of dishes - highly recommend.
Amazing staff and on-site restaurants. Very fitting for the area and a great experience. We left a sweater and they called us and offered to mail it to us. That’s too notch service. Rooms are kept in great condition. Hotel is what your would expect from a historical landmark but I must say, it’s a time warp of the best kind
The room was very clean. And we were supposed to find out there was a microwave, mini fridge, and sink in the room.
The hotel was close to the Luray caverns and at the edge of downtown Luray ( within walking distance.).
The staff was inviting and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.
This was perfect for me and my family since we wanted to explore the Shenandoah National Park, the Luray Caverns, and the towns nearby. The host provided a detailed manual which included information on how to access the amenities in the cottage, nearby grocery stores, and recommended attractions.
Beautiful old building in the perfect location.
The decor was lovely and suited the space. Recommend Room 9 The Tucker which had a small outside sitting area. The main hotel area was gorgeous. Definitely take the time to check it out.
Very modern, clean property within close proximity to local shops and Luray Caverns. The rooms looked great and the cleanliness level was excellent. Well stocked with towels and reasonable selection of cooking pots.
I liked the location. It's very close in proximity to little eateries and shops. I loved the walking area behind the inn. I also loved the fact that it's very close to the Luray Caverns.
Location was good, not far from places to eat and the Luray Caverns. Not far from the National Park. The grounds were pretty and good places to walk a pet. Room was fairly clean.
This was in the perfect location to where we were visiting while in Luray.
The room was in exceptional condition and was cleaner than many name hotels that I have stayed in.
The restaurant was nice to have, food was excellent for a small hotel. The location was great because you were minutes from luray caverns and all the mountains to hike.
we were able to check in early without question. we were not disturbed and the area was quiet. the hotel was within 3 miles of the attractions we went to see
