The trolly tour was fantastic and Rob gave us several tips.
The trolly tour was fantastic and Rob gave us several tips. Enjoyed visiting the Breaker Mansion, the cliff walk, Easton Beach. Celebrated our Anniversary dinner at the White Horse Tavern and had an amazing meal! Lots of shops and food places on Thames St near where we stayed at the Harborside Inn. Some places are hard to park so better to walk if possible. Overall great 3 day visit to Newport!

The cutest small town any time of year.
The cutest small town any time of year. I've been in the summer when people fill the beaches and streets, and I've been in the winter when the buildings are decorated with lights and everyone hangs ornaments on a Christmas tree on the beach. Lots of places to walk and explore both along the water and inland, many historical and beautiful buildings to tour, vineyards and beaches to spend your time, and wonderful places to stay.

We loved it all, but especially the Red Parrot and Moorings where we had great food. Ma's Donuts on the outskirts of the town was excellent too, if no good for the waistline. Travel in town is easy out of season. We walked a lot and when driving easily found parking for free.

Unfortunately, I reached the hotel on night of September 23rd whereas my booking Thro Booking.com was from September 24th
The hotel charged almost USD 1000 for one night, which I felt was terrible
Hotel was not full and charging more than double than per night rate of Booking.com left us with bad experience

Wonderful place to visit.
Wonderful place to visit.
When we bought the tickets to tour the mansion "The Breakers" we were told that we could upgrade our tickets to include more mansions when finished. For us, 1 mansion tour was sufficient, so I'm happy we didn't purchase a multi-tour upfront.
The Cliff Walk was a little more difficult than I had read in some reviews. We did the entire 3.5 miles & there were multiple spots of rocky terrain, not just one as I was expecting. However, it was worth it!
We timed the ocean drive for sunset & the views were gorgeous. There were multiple spots to stop to enjoy the view even more.
We got around Newport mostly by walking, it is do-able but many roads have no sidewalks, so if you need an even terrain, I wouldn't attempt walking everywhere.
This was a really beautiful boutique hotel! It surpassed expectations. My mom's and my favorite part was the gourmet complementary breakfast that was provided. We have never experienced such details. The rooms were exceptionally clean and welcoming with such cool details and style! Very comfortable seating areas both inside and outside also. The walk to downtown Newport was just about a half mile, which was convenient. The free parking was a huge plus, especially for Newport!
I have been coming to Newport for over 20 years every summer and love staying at locally owned B&B’s but wanted to try the new Hammetts Hotel. It exceed all expectations with convenient parking under the hotel (Valet) or behind the hotel, right in the center of downtown Newport, modern and very clean rooms and one of the best Italian meals we have had in Newport at Giusto located in the hotel.
Everything! The location is perfect for walking to harbor or walking along Bellevue to look at Mansions. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Facilities were excellent too, comfortable bed, great shower and breakfast included! Would highly recommend as an alternative to ridiculously high hotel prices in and around Newport. Will definitely return!
Prime location for walking around Newport. Plenty of restaurants and Markets directly around the hotel with very pedestrian friendly designed streets.
Red Parrot has a very diverse menu and it's only a 10 second walk in front of the hotel.
Cliff Walk is a must see if you're in the area. A 22 minute straight line walk, or a very short drive/Uber.
The hotel manager who checked us in was an amazing person who was incredibly helpful and made our entire experience the best it could be. He changed our rooms on the spot when he learned we had someone with serious pet allergies. Apparently some buildings are pet friendly and some aren’t. The front porch was very nice to gather and regroup.
Spectacular rooms in a historic inn with period furniture. Coffee and snacks parlor available all day and night, plus afternoon tea and the best hotel breakfast you've ever had. Located in the heart of old town Newport! Also, surprisingly cheap, sometimes they even beat the Pineapple Inn for cheapest hotel in Newport!
Location can't be beat. Within walking distance of everything in town, yet removed enough to be quiet and easy to get in & out with a car. The view from our room in the Inn was the best part. Loved looking out at the commercial pier & the harbor. Rooftop lounge area was great when the weather cooperated.
The location of the Bed and Breakfast was great. It was in a quiet neighborhood not far from the mansions of Bellevue and Ocean Drive. The owner Mary was very helpful and very friendly. She gave us helpful suggestions and had many stories about Newport. Our breakfast was delicious as well.
We ended up having to evacuate for a hurricane early and the staff were amazingly accommodating . Super Kind and gave us a partial refund. Hotel is in the absolute best location in Newport and rooms were so cute! Had our own private balconies and kitchen. We will definitely be back!
The Inn host was lovely and welcomed us as soon as we arrived. The room was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We love Newport and stay all over- this was by far one of our favorite Inns/hotels! The morning breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay here again
The location of this hotel is perfect providing easy access to Marinas and boats. It has a very lovely grassy area on the water with hammocks and plenty of chairs to enjoy the sunset. It has a pool which was refreshing.
We usually stay at a different hotel when we travel to Newport but figured we would try this one. No complaints at all. The pool was nice and the room was spacious.
Luxury experience with meager off-season rates makes blending into Newport for a week in winter an annual event: two baths and two bedrooms at hotel room rates.
The price was tempting. The location was close to downtown Newport RI. There was a midsize refrigerator. Car was parked next to room entrance like at motels.
