We stayed at this location so we could attend our friends wedding in Paintsville. The house was awesome! Plenty of room for both of our smaller children and four adults. We loved having the extra space that a hotel room could not provide. There was more than enough towels and toiletries to use. The kitchen is also very well stocked! The overall touch and decor throughout the house is very well done and the house has so much character! Check in and check out procedures were very simple. The lock box was very simple to use upon check in.

Prestonsburg is a former coal town in the Appalachians with the nearest large town being Lexington that’s about an hour or so away. Excellent for history buffs. There are very few places to eat other than fast food. Shopping highlights would be Walmart, discount stores and a JC Penny. You don’t come here to shop, many come, like I do, to visit family in the area or are passing through. When visiting I stay at a hotel in Prestonsburg. The hotel is clean and safe but expensive to what you would find along the interstate. However its nice, has seen a lot of years but the staff is fantastic, free breakfast has many choices. Don’t mean to sound negative, but the city is typical of eastern Kentucky and western West Virginia. Towns that have boomed and busted over generations but keep on going from the pride of the people who live there. My family ties go back to the founding of Prestonsburg in the 18th century, there is so much history in those mountains.

We liked the town.
We liked the town. We shopped a little, and drove around a little too. The best place to eat was The Brickhouse. It was so good we ate there twice. Anything from steak and seafood to burgers and salads. Had a good bar with a good selection of beer wine and liquor. Definitely the best choice in town to eat and drink.

Definitely visit Jenny Wiley State Park--beautiful park and very helpful with the information we needed even though we didn't stay at their lodge. Definitely visit the elk viewing areas and explore the area. Mountains are beauriful!!!!
The breakfast was adequate with a varied selection of prepackaged items and also waffles and biscuits and gravy. It was not crowded the morning we were there. The bed was comfortable. There was a refrigerator (no freezer), microwave and coffee maker. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was quiet for sleeping. There was a shopping center and McDonalds right by the hotel.
The location for me couldn't have been better... easy on/easy off the highway and the midpoint of my travels home. I had a renovated room, which was lovely, although I wished I'd known renovations were happening as we speak because I would have booked elsewhere. Staff was also nice. Check in was easy.
The staff provided excellent service! Very friendly and accommodating. Steps away from McDonald's and Walmart. They will wash, dry, and fold your laundry for 3.00 a load. What hotel does that. It was like home away from home 🙂
The fitness room was an added bonus that was not included in the hotel's amenities. The location was easily accessible, and Jeremy (front desk staff) greeted us with a smile and had a very positive attitude!
The breakfast was surprisingly okay. The hotel was so disgustingly dirty that I questioned eating food prepared there, but figured I take my chances there or at fast food on the road...50/50 toss up.
One of the hotel workers help me with an issue on paying for the room. Priceline app wasn’t working and they waited for me to get the money back and pay for the room in cash.
Breakfast was ok. Could use some coffee creamer instead of just the powered packages. Juice machine was out of order. Hotel location was good to where I needed to work.
