Fun having the fire pits, Adirondack chairs, holy board on site. The pool wasn't open for the season but they have nice cabanas to use. The whole vibe was fun. Happy hour with beer and wine was nice.

South lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit.
South lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit. I love the fresh air and the smell of the Sierras. The restaurants are okay, they try to make you think that they have all this amazing dining experiences, but they're just pretty much mediocre everywhere you go.

It's very difficult to figure out where to go to play in the snow & parking is a nightmare wherever you go. Traffic is bad. The casinos don't even try to entertain you or tease you. The slots just take your money without even stringing you along. The slots totally sucked, especially compared to Indian casinos & that includes all the casinos in South Lake, as well as North Lake.

Wow, haven't been to South Lake Tahoe in about 6-8 years and what a HUGE difference. It's become more commercialized and not as "homey" as it once felt. A lot of the older establishments are out of business with new stuff and construction taking over. The mom and pop restaurants we went to were pretty bad. It's gone down for charm, but up for convenience. Great groceries. Whole Foods, Safeway, Grocery Outlet... few bakeries, but we were shocked at the prices. $4.25 for a bear claw pastry! Still, it's beautiful and still worth the trip. Heavenly ski resort now requires reservations for parking on the weekends. They charge for cars with less than 3 people.

S. Lake Tahoe is fine for those seeking to shop, visit casino, night life however if you want to get away from the crowds and experience nature you are better off finding accommodations on the North side of the lake.

The location is great and close to stores and beach.
The location is great and close to stores and beach. They allowed pet in the area as well and the area is very quiet and safe. The only this we don’t like is no rug for the bathroom and the entrance door. They put a white towel instead. And the window or vinyl were dusty. Overall we love the place and we had a great stay. I would recommend this to family and friends.

The Alder Inn was such a cute place to stay! It was in a great location in South Tahoe that made it easy to access everything that I wanted to do while there. It was also within walking distance to restaurants and shopping! The Alder Inn definitely provided the more rustic experience that I wanted to have while staying in Tahoe (I didn't want to stay at a hotel/casino). It was clean, the staff was friendly, and it felt super homey! I would for sure recommend this place to friends and I would absolutely stay there again!
There were a lot of bad reviews overall but we really enjoyed our stay.
The room was clean and quite big and the bed was very confy. The only bad thing would be the bathroom because of the shower (water dripping on the floor) but that wasn’t a bid deal.
The room was really warm and cozy at night and we enjoyed out stay (we even booked 2 more nights directly to the hotel after our stay ended).
Definitely recommend for a cheap stay in South Lake Tahoe.
The large soaking tub was the best part. We liked that there was a tv and microwave even though we did not need it. Having a refridgerator was convenient. Very close to the casinos, the lake, places to eat and disc golf courses. They made sure to stock towels and soap. Coffee in the morning available and clean room. Friendly and prompt staff.
Small but nice and comfortable room right near all the action. When I go to the South Lake Tahoe area, I prefer to stay on the California side instead of the Nevada side and away from the casinos, but this is about as close you can get to everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer. Walking distance to everything, and a at great price.
Good location: 5 min walk to a beach and South Lake Tahoe downtown. Not very noisy AC. Free parking and many parking spots. Quiet location. Refrigerator and coffee machine in the room. Good water quality.
No breakfasts are provided by hotel, but there is a restaurant near the hotel where guests can buy breakfasts.
The jacuzzi was amazing MacDuff's pub right next door was the best food and drinks ever and it was right across the street from the lake which was covered in snow and beautiful we ubered to the casinos for $12 what a deal we had such a great weekend would recommend this hotel to anybody
Terrible hotel and terrible service. We went there in the winter and the heater was not working. They first refuse to change the room and told us to wait if the heater will be warmer. It didn’t. Later the property manager was not on the premises and let us wait to change the room.
The accomodation is strategically located near the touristic center of South Lake Tahoe. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The complimentary breakfast is simple yet fully satisfactory. Our room was alway clean and we always had fresh towels. We enjoyed the stay there.
This was a nicely renovated hotel right near Heavenly Ski Resort and the action downtown. It was very comfortable and beautifully updated. It was also well-supplied - multiple towels, etc. Best of all, it was so well-priced; super affordable.
Fantastic location and having a gas log burner in the room was lovely as we had snow (May). Staff very helpful and knew about local places. Hotel right by a restaurant And an Indian restaurant and Safeway supermarket was just over the road.
We stay in Tahoe a lot since we live so close. Generally we spend $300 -400 a night at other hotels. This one was cleaner and renovated more then these expensive places. Well worth the price. Located really close casinos and shopping.
The owner was super accommodating. He was extremely friendly and welcoming. The location was the best part. It is within walking distance to the beach and casinos. There are a variety of restaurants nearby.
A high standard of cleanliness throughout the room and the hotel. The staff are friendly and could not help us enough! The location? Perfect for access to the lake, boat trips, and the local amenities.
The protest was within walking distance to downtown but far enough away for it to be quite. The breakfast is one of the best we have had at a hotel in a long time without having to pay for it.
It’s across the street from the casinos, walking distance to almost everything, and best of all… has a brewery attached to the property! Great food and drinks!
Great facilities onsite, loved the brewery and coffee shop. S’mores around the fire pits at night was great fun. Good location to explore South Lake Tahoe.
