All the staff were amazing and very friendly. Bit disappointed as I thought throughout it was starting to look a bit dated.

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

We stayed in the heart of the city, steps away from Marvel Stadium- perfect for walking and taking in a footy game! Excellent shops and places to eat, and the free city tram made getting around easy. We visited the museum, the state library, and walked along the many pathways in the nearby parks.

Melbourne is a wonderful city with many lovely sights.
Melbourne is a wonderful city with many lovely sights. I would recommend staying close to Southbank where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. From there, you can walk to the botanical gardens, the city centre and jump on a tram to St Kilda to the beach, or Acland st for a more eclectic feel. Port Melbourne is also a tram ride and a walk along the promenade to visit Station pier. A visit to Fitzroy gardens is also worth a trip, and to check out Cook`s cottage and the old treasury building at the top of Collins st.

Easy to walk around, the free tram zone was a bonus. Heaps of things to see and do; museums, parks, markets, restaurants and bars. It's worth exploring the Skydeck for panoramic views of the city and surrounds, and I recommend doing a dinner river cruise.

Great city to explore!
Great city to explore! We spent a few days in Melbourne CBD and also at Yarra Valley for a wedding. The CBD was busy and bustling all the time - reminded us of a much smaller scale of New York City. We loved walking around the CBD and exploring all of the lanes, streets, and shops in the city. The Queen Victoria Market was a cool place we visited as well as the numerous shopping malls, and cafes we stopped at too. Free trams in the city were great!
There was a lot of roadworks on when we were there and also a surprising number of homeless people. There were a few times that we didn’t feel 100% safe in the evenings especially, as there were some different characters around that would yell/fight nearby. Overall, would recommend and will return to visit.

Melbourne is far to busy for my taste...
Melbourne is far to busy for my taste...… The people here have a priority of getting places over driving safely! Typical for a big city. Melbourne drivers are reckless and dangerous. As for Melbourne itself I'm no latte sipping snob but this sure as hell chaps my ass. When I get far better service and a friendly smile from an over worked busy "AF" MacDonald's McCafe worker than from some bougie uptight pretentious Café skank that cannot even apply a little smile to her RBF for five seconds of our interaction. Melbourne do better!!! Far better than this "Dan Andrews attempt at the Commonwealth games of coffee and tourism" SMH!!!
The location is perfect. Situated in the heart of the CBD. Tram stop out at the front door which makes it easy to get around the city. The rooms are quiet generous in size. Blossom’s Roof top bar make delicious pizza’s which go down well with a cocktail and the staff are very helpful. We travel to Melbourne every year to watch footy and have stayed at a lot of different hotels. There is lots of walking involved to get to them. I think we have found the perfect location. This is our second stay here and I know we will return again.
Winston Apartments are within the free tram line that circuits Melbourne CBD, but also is a 12 minute walk to DFO and great Wharf cafes and restaurants. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and quiet, with great views. There is a tram stop right outside of Winston apartments with a short trip by tram to the railway and bus station stop. A Woolworths supermarket is across the road for self catering. Great value for money with great communication from Winston Apartments.Definitely recommend.
Excellent value for money and super convenient location to Southern Cross station. Comparatively large room for a CBD hotel at this price point. Very clean room with comfy sofa and facilities. Bathroom a little small but includes everything you need for short stay. Breakfast is a basic continental buffet with a few hot options. Great variety of Asian restaurants within walking distance - particularly recommend seeking out the all you can eat Korean BBQ buffet a few blocks walk away.
We felt so lucky to find this apartment! The location is in the heart of Melbourne CBD, so walking distance to a huge number of great restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping. It's tastefully decorated (which seems rare with Melbourne CBD rental apartments!), and has a good-sized living area. The two bedrooms are spaced apart, which is nice for privacy and if you are travelling with a snorer! Would definitely stay here again.
Location was great, handy to get to anywhere in the Melbourne CBD. Lots of restaurants nearby (though most beyond our budget! and not so family friendly) . Close to tram to the Australian Open and walk to Flinders Station area/across to Southbank and city shopping. Big spacious living space and bedrooms, large wardrobes. Good aircon. Reception stored our luggage on checkout day as our flight was later in the day.
The hotel is very nicely designed, bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel tv in the room also had free movies available without the need for streaming platforms. Location was ok- 14 minute walk from Skybus terminal in the city that connects travellers to Melbourne airport. Something to note: the hotel is on the outskirts of the central busy CBD area (approx 30-40min walk or 15 Min uber).
The location is excellent, near Southern Cross and it's also within the free tram zone line in Melbourne CBD. Very easy to navigate. The facilities and the rooms are clean. They have a locker storage for travelers who arrived earlier than their check-in time or for those who have to check-out a tad bit earlier and have to leave their stuff in one place. Staff is friendly and accommodating too.
Located literally right behind DFO South Wharf with very accessible portals to it and the Melbourne Convention Centre. It was perfect if I attended a convention, but a little to the edge of central Melbourne (CBD, Docklands, Crown, etc) if my purpose on staying was different. No complaints on the room; it's clean perfect for what they advertise. Easy check-in and check-out.
Naughtons Parkville Hotel, located near Melbourne University, is cosy and unpretentious ... just the way I like it. It's close to the city, yet far enough away for those who might be overwhelmed by the sounds of the CBD. Its rooms are cozy, simple and clean. This is the second time I've stayed and I returned because I liked it so much the first time.
Cheap n cheerful kid friendly hotel. Perfect location to grab a surf across road at Urbn surf. Free bus pick up from airport - just ring Ciloms. Skybus to CBD was easy and lockers at the station to dump bags while exploring before check-in to melb bnb was easy as. Good restaurant at Urbn surf had vego options and good beer.
Very close to the CBD and Vic markets, on the free tram line into the city making travel very convenient. The hotel is set up for family or business and the lobby is nice.
Gym and pool also a nice bonus! Plus a quiet spot on the top floor with comfortable seating to relax away from hustle and bustle of Melbourne CBD.
The breakfast was awesome great selection on the menu to choose from. The location was perfect within walking distance to many great sites like laneways NGV, CBD, Fed Square. The hotel was so clean it really did exceed my expectations !! Also how good is Melbourne I haven't been for many years such a cool city !!!
Location was good, it was in the city CBD on the side, you could still walk and catch a tram if you wanted or drive. The apartments are like brand new. The gym and pool and spa were awesome, my kids loved the heated pool and spa and the pool was so big.
This is our preferred accommodation in Melbourne CBD. The apartments are a really good size. Much bigger than what you get in a traditional hotel. The location is brilliant. Don’t think we could find anything better.
This is our accommodation of choice when in Melbourne CBD. Great location and beautiful view of the Yarra River. The staff are also very welcoming and helpful.
