The location was exceptional, right in the heart of Bergamo. It is an old building that has been fully renovated and earthquake strengthened. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We booked a Deluxe Double Room with Balcony, which was spacious, with a great bathroom. The balcony was in a courtyard, but we had a great view from the window. TIP - there is a rear entrance with elevator for your luggage. No need to lug bags up the stairs at the front entrance.

What is there not to like about the property? It has a fascinating history and we felt “at home” the moment we set foot in the place. Yellow House is a little jewel, so close to the heart of Città Alta that you could fall out of bed into Piazza Vecchia and yet, thanks to the triple glazing, we didn’t hear a thing, even when they transmitted a football match on the giant screen. Self check in and out was easy to follow and a very useful folder provided all the details to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They had thoughtfully even left two foldable umbrellas (yellow, naturally) as the weather was a bit changeable. Little details that make the difference making guests feel truly looked after. The apartment is well equipped, with a good Wi-Fi and the view is breathtaking, well worth the climb. Watching the swallows swooping around the Campanone as dusk falls is something we won’t forget easily Hopefully we’ll be back for next year’s Maestri del Paesaggio!
