My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and everything was perfect. Ali the host and his family were very welcoming and helpful. They also made us delicious meals and facilitated a tour of the national park on a traditional fishing boat, which I recommend. The location is also close to G-land so you can get in and out for surfs without the cost of surf camps if you are on a budget.

Despite of all the good things in Room Ijen, spotless is the first word popped out of my mind. Im sure everyone has been spoiled by unlimited kindness from Indonesians, but no matter what youve been encontered, this hostle is another level, in which case Im not gonna spoil your experience . Uve gonna come and find out. BTW, they have bus from Banyunwagi to Bali , which I recommend you do it. I found it in a hard way because I took a local bus....

Beautifully friendly hosts, I was worried about arriving after 12:30 am due to the train being later then expected. However, I was greeted and promptly taken to a nice and quiet room. The common areas are nice and the breakfast was also delicious.
