Vi hadde tre dager i Vientiene, dessverre med regn stort sett hele tiden. Juli er regntid her. Oppholdet på Riva Hotel var en positiv opplevelse , både hotellmessig og , ikke minst , veldig hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening. Frokosten var en blanding av europeisk og asiatisk mat. En helt grei frokost, vil jeg si. Hotellet ligger litt i utkanten av sentrum, men lett å komme seg dit med taxi eller tuk tuk.

Different, but not as much as I thought
Run to the ATM as soon as possible and take out 2 million LAT. Don't use dollar or Bath. You will loose 50% of the value. Vientiane is more modern than I expected. More like Thailand without 7-11 ect.

Vientiane is a very charming city compared to other asian cities with similar size. There are many interesting spots to visit - I specially like very much the Buddha park outside town during the day - it's nice to sit there and relax with a book( you can rent a motorbike to go there or take a local bus for just a few Kip) and to hang around the Mekong riverside in the evening.

If you are going to vientiane Laos. Then we will recommend to stay at Intercity boutique hotel. Very good service. Good food And very nice friendly staff. The hotel is by the night marked by the Mekong river. Every night there is full of life. And every night at 6 pm there is aerobic by the river for free who everybody can joy for free. And if you want to stay where there is all this and like to go to a very very good night club. Then you have to stay at Intercity boutique hotel its only 20 meters beside that club. The club is on the roof top bar on the 3 floor. We higly recommend this place. They play very good music.they have 3 pool tables. dancing. And very friendly nice people. This is the best place to go out for a drink and have fun. Only place in vientiane who got everthing in a bar club😀😎

Positive points: - Breakfast - Dinner - Pool - Room The staff and certainly Sarah was very helpful and charming. She helped me to call for taxis when moving around Vientiane. The garden of the hotel and the frogs although sometimes a bit loud :) were an extra.

Lovely clean spacious hotel room with great view over river at back. Ate at restaurant for evening meal which was good. Staff very attentive and helpful. We chose this hotel due to closeness to border into Laos. Staff arranged their hotel minibus van to Thai border crossing but can do trips to Laos as well. Quiet location which suited us.
