A sumptuous hotel. Rabbit warrens and stairs all over. Room was comfy and quiet. Quite pricey but guess that’s the location. Fabulous food and informal staff

The bar menu online wasn’t actually available do not very much of an option for someone who didn’t want to eat in the more formal restaurant

Only downside was room was a little hot so not sure how it would be staying in peak summer heat.

Beautiful hotel, full of character and charm, with modern updates. Loved the courtyard dining area.

Our bed was two single beds pushed together, but there was enough bedding on it that it didn't matter. Also the bathroom needed a fan.

Beautiful room, lovely restaurant, really nice atmosphere. The garden was lovely too. It was really quiet and calm as a hotel and all of the furnishings were top notch. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing - it was all amazing.

We loved everything about our stay at The George. The Staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. Our room was just incredible - very comfy bed, lovely deep bath, blackout curtains etc. Very atmospheric. And our dinner and breakfast were delicious. But really it's the staff who make it so lovely - they were all, without exception, fantastic.

There weren’t enough surfaces in bedroom to put things down on, i.e. no dressing table. It would be easy to get lost in the hotel as it is a bit of a maze, so it would have been helpful to have a porter show us to our room and point out features eg kettle and cups on side but tea and coffee in bottom of wardrobe - why?? No parking at hotel, steep walk up from local car park (only £2.50 for 24 hours) so drop bags off before parking. People with mobility issues should mention this when booking as lots of steep, curving stairs and very narrow passages in parts of hotel - not a problem for us.

Location is excellent. Historic building, beautifully refurbished in a quirky, sympathetic modern take on country house style. Hotel is full of narrow passages, it’s fun to explore where they lead and spot beautiful architectural features. The beds really comfortable, the water pressure excellent, lovely Ren toiletries. The staff were charming and the food at dinner terrific - the melt in the mouth chateaubriand was a particular highlight, a good breakfast offering.

Twin room booked for our friends but double provided so they had to change rooms to a twin as requested. No fault of the hotel, but Rye council need to try to encourage visitors and tourism and open all the toilets closed for a 'Trial'!!!! They also need to arrange car parking hours so that you can park overnight without having to be out of the hotel and down to the car parks by 8.00am, absolutely ridiculous!

    Most things. Food very good.
